Supervised by the Sales and Dispatch Coordinator, the Class 1 Driver is responsible for transporting bulk product in the Val-d’Or and Cadillac region based on the customer’s needs.
RESPONSIBILITIES – CLASS 1 AND 3 OPERATORS
- Perform a mechanical inspection at the beginning of each day to check the condition of the truck;
- Fill the gas tank at the end of every work shift;
- Drive the truck to the destination and deliver the merchandise to the location designated by the customer;
- Check the delivery location to ensure there are no obstructions (wires, etc.);
- Finalize the delivery ticket and have it signed;
- Always keep trucks and equipment clean (indoor and outdoor);
- Be courteous with customers at all times;
- Report any customer complaints to your supervisor;
- Comply with the load and size limits legislation;
- Observe the speed limits;
- Fill in your logbook when you go more than 160 km from your home port.
- When there is no bulk transporting to be done, the worker may be required to operate a lowbed, “B-Train” or “semi-trailer”.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS – CLASS 1 AND 3 OPERATORS
- At least 2 years of experience as a driver;
- Be independent and versatile;
- Have good mechanical knowledge;
- Have initiative and enjoy working with the public;
- Have a Class 1 driver’s license;
