Job Offer – TRUCK AND TRAILER MAINTENANCE MECHANIC

JOB DESCRIPTION – TRUCK AND TRAILER MECHANIC

Supervised by the Mechanical Foreman, the Truck and Trailer Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing all repair work on the vehicles in keeping with a mechanic’s qualifications.

RESPONSIBILITIES – TRUCK AND TRAILER MECHANIC

  • Perform preventive maintenance on vehicles;
  • Perform mechanical inspections;
  • Perform maintenance on emission control systems;
  • Adjust brakes;
  • Adjust clutches and their components;
  • Remove and install clutches;
  • Change gaskets on transmissions, differentials and axles;
  • Perform minor repairs on transmissions and differentials;
  • Program engine parameters;
  • Change minor engine components;
  • Diagnose and repair minor electrical problems;
  • Diagnose and repair problems with compressed-air systems;
  • Diagnose and repair hydraulic problems;
  • Diagnose and repair brake problems;
  • Diagnose and repair suspension and steering problems;
  • All other related tasks.

REQUIRED PROFILE – TRUCK AND TRAILER MECHANIC

  • Vocational diploma in heavy vehicle mechanics or other related field;
  • Have four or more years of experience in heavy vehicle mechanics;
  • Have Preventive Maintenance Program (PMP) certification from the SAAQ (an asset)
  • Have a valid driver’s license;
  • Have a tool box;
  • Have a sense of initiative and independence, and be a team player;
  • Have computer skills;
  • Know how to use the insight programs (Cummins)
